German Defense Minister Discourages Israeli Strike Against Iran

German Defense Minister Thomas de Maiziere said that military escalation between Israel and Iran over Iran’s disputed nuclear program “would not be for the good of Israel.”

The German minister met with his Israeli counterpart, Ehud Barak, in Berlin on March 20. They discussed the growing tension in the Middle East over Iran’s nuclear program.

“To just to accept a nuclear Iran would be inconceivable I believe and unacceptable to the whole world,” said Barak at a joint press conference.

Maiziere said that Iran is obviously seeking nuclear weapons capability and that it must be deterred from doing so. But he also urged restraint and said a military escalation will carry unforeseeable risks for Israel, for the region and for others.

While Berlin currently appears to be showing restraint in this issue, Bible prophecy says that Germany will soon opt for an overwhelming military strike against Iran and obliterate its regional hegemony. For more information on this prophecy, read our booklet The King of the South.
