In effort to be feared, France tests new submarine missile

On Tuesday, France test-launched its new M51.3 intercontinental missile from its nuclear submarine Le Vigilant. According to French President Emmanuel Macron, the test demonstrated “the credibility” of France’s deterrence. He added that “to be free, you have to be feared. And to be feared, you have to be powerful.”
