Will Donald Trump Ever Learn?

“Congratulations to all on this amazing development, that everybody said could never be achieved!” President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social yesterday. The development? Yet another new peace deal with Hamas to end the war in Gaza.

[BRIEF]

• When he took office again in January 2025, President Trump announced a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. Israel released dozens of terrorist murderers. Hamas released some hostages. The deal broke down as Hamas kept violating the ceasefire and refused to disarm—prompting Israel to pause its military withdrawal from Gaza.
• In the autumn, he announced a new 20-point peace plan to permanently end the war. It stalled as Hamas continued to refuse to disarm.
• He has repeatedly pushed ceasefires with Hamas’s crucial sponsor, Iran, which have all failed.

Now he’s trying something very similar again:

• Under the agreement, Israeli forces will withdraw from Gaza and be replaced with an International Stabilization Force from several militaries.
• A new Palestinian police force will maintain law and order in Gaza.
• Hamas will gradually hand over its weapons as Israel pulls out.

How will disarmament happen? This is the important question. U.S. administration insiders told the Telegraph that Hamas will hand over its weapons to some kind of transitional Palestinian body, which will hold the weapons, effectively in escrow, until after Israel has withdrawn from Gaza. Only then will they be destroyed.

Hamas has infiltrated and taken over almost every Palestinian body that has ever been set up in Gaza. It is the government there—backed by many locals. In reality, this deal would see Hamas hand its weapons to another set of terrorists—while Israel Defense Forces retreat and trust the weapons will be destroyed.

The International Stabilization Force is another unknown. So far, too few nations have volunteered to send troops for it to be viable.

“At the moment the agreement relies on organizations that have not been set up yet,” one official told the Telegraph. “I wouldn’t expect anything to happen in the next few weeks—it will mostly be arguments over the wording that has just been agreed. There are many potential points of failure in the plan.”

There is no reason to congratulate anyone. It is deeply disturbing that Donald Trump has learned no lessons from Hamas’s actions and his previous failures. Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry wrote in “President Trump Betrayed Israel” regarding the January 2025 ceasefire:

This deal has exposed Mr. Trump’s flaws in a way that none of us want to see. Something is dreadfully wrong here. What Mr. Trump has done here is going to plague him for the rest of his tenure in office! Just watch and see if it doesn’t happen that way—unless he dramatically changes course.

If he won’t learn from past mistakes, that course correction will not happen. Mr. Flurry concluded:

We must recognize this deal for what it is: a disturbing sign of America’s lost power in the Middle East, a red flag about the president’s approach to international affairs, a warning about the reliability of America’s alliance with Israel, and a terrible harbinger of far worse curses to come on both nations!

We see the fruits of his failed approach to Iran in that deal. Expect more failures if America lacks the will to fight terrorists.

Iran War Update

• A U.S.-owned gas storage vessel and a Greek tanker at the Egyptian port of Damietta caught fire in an apparent drone strike by Iran on Wednesday. Two Iranian sources told the New York Times that the strike was “to show that global shipping and energy supplies could be more deeply disrupted if Iran chose to escalate.” Damietta sits next to the Mediterranean entry to the Suez Canal. This comparatively small event foreshadows a prophecy in Daniel 11 where Iran will get control of both Egypt and the canal.
• Reuters reported Tuesday that China was arranging a deal with Yemen’s Houthi terror group to spare its ships as they transit the Red Sea. Since then, several oil tankers broadcasting Chinese identification have sailed past Houthi territory without incident, suggesting an arrangement is in place.

Is Political Profanity All-American?

A United States senator spent part of a congressional hearing this week tearing into Dr. Anthony Fauci—and Fauci deserved every bit of the scrutiny. But partway through, the senator dropped some foul language, on record, in an official hearing.

This wasn’t an isolated slip of the tongue. President Trump, for example, has unleashed profanity-laced tirades describing what he plans to do to Iran—and to Fauci.

“Political profanity is having a bleeping moment,” wrote Axios. When even Axios feels obligated to write about it, something has changed.

Politicians are increasingly abandoning scripted language and publicly cursing as profanity becomes a more common political tool. … The shift suggests politicians are using profanity intentionally to project authenticity, signal confrontation, and distance themselves from traditional Washington norms.

They had the evidence to back it up:

• Presidents and presidential candidates are known to have used profanity at least 692 times since 1919, according to data from Cardiff University.
• 605 of those times have been in the last 10 years.
• Donald Trump and Joe Biden account for 78 percent of all recorded presidential profanity.

Swear words are now a branding tool. Curse at a hearing, and the clip goes viral. The cruder the outburst, the farther it spreads. Studies show that voters find swear words more informal, which makes candidates seem more “authentic,” “ordinary” and “relatable”—more like them.

Two hundred and fifty years ago this Monday—August 3, 1776—America’s first commander in chief issued a general order to his army. Read it and ask yourself whether it is more American and more virtuous to speak like the current president or the original.

The General is sorry to be informed that the foolish and wicked practice of profane cursing and swearing … is growing into fashion. He hopes the officers will, by example as well as influence, endeavor to check it … that we can little hope of the blessing of Heaven on our arms if we insult it by our impiety and folly. … It is a vice so mean and low, without any temptation, that every man of sense and character detests and despises it.

George Washington tied profanity and obscenity directly to whether his army would receive God’s blessing.

If we insult Heaven with our own mouths, why would Heaven bless our efforts?

This is bigger than manners. Even more important than this sentiment from one of our nation’s Founding Fathers are the commands of the Bible, which connect our communication to our personal and national standing before God.

Hear the word of the Lord, ye children of Israel: for the Lord hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.

Notice the first sin on this list: swearing. It is not listed as an afterthought: It is the first named symptom of a nation with no truth, no mercy and no knowledge of God.

The blessing our first president feared losing was never a given. It is something we are, right now, choosing to forfeit when we choose to sin.

Spanish Coastal City Overwhelmed by Migrants

“What happened yesterday [was] an attack, a violation of Spain’s territorial integrity,” Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez said this morning at a news conference.

Some 60,000 migrants, 70 percent of the city’s regular population, entered the Spanish coastal city Ceuta yesterday from Morocco, according to the city’s president, Juan Jesús Vivas.

• Ceuta is an autonomous city of Spain on the North African coast bordering Morocco. Yesterday, it asked the Spanish government to declare a national emergency.
• A court ruled that migrants who come by sea cannot be immediately sent back, unlike those who climb border fences. So thousands of migrants started swimming.
• Spain has been sending them back regardless at a rate of 150 people per minute, the interior ministry remarked this morning.

Europe’s response shows that it has had enough of illegal immigration.

• “The images coming from Ceuta are unacceptable. We cannot allow anyone to come to our union without abiding by our rules,” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said today.
• Spain should be suspended from the Schengen Agreement, Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni argued yesterday, “to defend our borders and ensure the safety of our citizens.” Italy does not share a border with Spain, but once migrants are in a European Union country in the Schengen Zone, they can freely travel from one to the next.
• “The EU’s return regulation must now be implemented immediately,” German Chancellor Friedrich Merz wrote on social media today.

Europe is a changed place from 2015 when millions of migrants began entering EU nations—and never left. Politicians are now willing to take extreme measures to protect their borders. Soon they will take the next step and tackle the problem at its source.

AfD a Danger to German Military Plans?

The German government is secretly planning to block German states from interfering with its war preparations, a joint investigation by the Telegraph and Die Welt revealed yesterday.

• German Chancellor Friedrich Merz allegedly fears that a September election victory of the Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) in two eastern German states could obstruct his party’s military plans designed to defend against a Russian invasion.

A pro-Russian government led by the AfD could use bureaucratic measures to obstruct troop and equipment movements, delay the deployment of state-level police resources, and refuse military priority on local roads.

To prevent such a scenario, Merz’s government is developing a crisis mechanism that overrides state governments’ decision-making powers. Tobias Krull, the deputy chairman of parliament’s interior committee in Saxony-Anhalt, said:

There are considerations about what could be done to bypass the state government in the event of an AfD single-party government.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius told Bild am Sonntag on July 5 that he is looking into ways to prevent AfD politicians from accessing classified documents.

While Germany has long cooperated with Russia, many politicians and industrialists know there will be a forceful break in these relations. The AfD seems to count on good relations with Russia for years to come.

China’s robot army has U.S. on edge: The United States Federal Communications Commission said Wednesday that Chinese robots will be barred from entering the U.S. market. Chinese companies such as Unitree market their humanoid robots as the ideal workforce for factories, warehouses, shops, cafes, hospitals, nursing homes and even households as a solution to shrinking workforces and aging populations. The U.S. ban says the robots “collect data that could be leveraged by malign actors to surveil Americans, enhance the capabilities of foreign intelligence services, or to remotely commandeer the robots.” The ban barely scratches the surface of China’s sophisticated and relentless campaign to infiltrate America and extract its data, technology and trade secrets.
