Jew Hatred: Key of Democrat Success
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s brand of socialism is becoming a nationwide movement. It received a big boost Tuesday when three radical candidates backed by the Democratic Socialists of America (dsa) swept to victory in Democratic primaries in New York City.
- All three want to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement and end all military aid to Israel. They characterize Israel’s war in Gaza as genocide while ignoring the Oct. 7, 2023, massacre.
[BRIEF]
Because these districts overwhelmingly vote Democrat, these primary winners are almost guaranteed victory in the November elections. Their victories will double the number of dsa members in Congress.
- “What the mayor is doing here should be done all over this country,” declared Bernie Sanders at a Brooklyn rally.
Brad Lander defeated two-term incumbent Rep. Dan Goldman in the 10th Congressional District. Goldman is a progressive who hates Donald Trump as loudly as anyone on the left, but in today’s Democratic Party, that isn’t enough.
- Goldman is Jewish, and in a dark blue district in 2026, being Jewish and not hating the Jewish state is a political liability.
Darializa Avila Chevalier, a 32-year-old community organizer, pulled off the night’s biggest upset, narrowly defeating five-term incumbent Rep. Adriano Espaillat.
- Chevalier attended a pro-Palestinian rally in New York City the day after the October 7 massacre, before a single hostage had been freed.
Claire Valdez won the open-seat primary in the 7th District. She’s declared herself a dual citizen of the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo Nation and the United States.
- Her main opponent, Antonio Reynoso, also accused Israel of genocide—but he was seen as inauthentic, only adopting Jew hatred once he was running for Congress.
In related news, socialist and Palestinian activist Aber Kawas won her election for New York State Senate.
- A video has circulated of a 2017 workshop where she waved a Hamas headband and claimed the 9/11 terrorist attacks were “manifestations” of American capitalism, racism, white supremacy and Islamophobia.
These people don’t just hate Jews, they hate the values, rooted in the Bible, that made America great. It’s no coincidence they hate both the Jews and American history.
My father warns in his booklet Great Again that the “pillars of American history and identity are being vilified and destroyed. America’s educators are teaching oncoming generations to be embarrassed by them. Even the nation’s leaders see them as shameful. On many foundational issues, they share the views of America’s worst enemies!”
These are the ones now winning elections. And they are not just rejecting America’s values; they are rejecting God.
In Hosea 2:8, God says of the nation that has forgotten Him: “For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold ….” That is America in 2026: squandering the blessings God poured down on this nation, taking credit for its own greatness, and now cursing the very people through whom those blessings came.
Venezuelan Double Quakes May Have Killed 100,000
Back-to-back earthquakes rocked Venezuela yesterday after 6 p.m. local time. The death toll is estimated in the tens of thousands; the United States Geological Survey says possibly up to 100,000. The first quake registered 7.2 on the moment magnitude scale, while the second, a minute later, registered 7.5, the strongest in Venezuela since 1900.
- The epicenters were about 100 miles west of the capital, Caracas, near San Felipe, a city of 220,000. Entire buildings collapsed in cities as far away as Caracas.
- Many Venezuelans were inside buildings yesterday for a public holiday. Numerous Venezuelans live in shantytowns or structures otherwise constructed on unstable foundations.
Acting President Delcy Rodríguez said the United States is in “permanent contact” with the Venezuelan government.
United States President Donald Trump, the Venezuelan government’s new patron, said he had “instructed all agencies of our government to get ready to move quickly. We will be there for our new and great friends. Early reports are not good!!!”
Venezuela’s situation was already dire. As of 2024, an estimated 73 percent of the population was in poverty, 36 percent in extreme poverty.
- The U.S. has been fighting a war against powerful drug cartels based in the country. The effects of the dual quakes will be felt by Venezuelans for a long time.
Rodríguez said authorities “are currently carrying out very intense rescue efforts to save as many lives as God allows us to save.”
Why did God allow the quakes to hit such a vulnerable country and cause so many deaths? Our Trends article “Why the Trumpet Watches Increased ‘Natural’ and Weather Disasters” has the answers. This article is also available in Spanish.
China Launches Campaign to Illegally Police Ships Near Taiwan
A new Chinese Coast Guard operation targeting foreign commercial shipping off Taiwan’s Pacific coast drew criticism Wednesday from the United States and other Western nations. Some analysts view it as a potential dry run for a naval quarantine of Taiwan.
- From June 6 to 10, Chinese Coast Guard crews issued radio interrogations to 198 commercial vessels in waters east of Taiwan’s main territory.
- China has no jurisdiction over this maritime region and no legal authority to conduct these operations. But it signals China’s intensifying determination to assert control over democratic Taiwan and its environs.
Dangerous precedent: The U.S.’s de facto embassy in Taiwan called China’s actions “deeply destabilizing” and said: “We urge Beijing to cease its military, diplomatic and economic pressure against Taiwan and instead engage in meaningful dialogue with Taiwan’s democratically elected authorities.”
- British, French and German authorities said the Chinese operations “threaten regional stability and the freedom of navigation and safety of international shipping.”
Raymond Powell, director of Stanford University’s SeaLight project, told the Wall Street Journal that the campaign sets a precedent that China can build on as it works to assert control over waters around Taiwan and throughout the South China Sea.
“Today, it’s radio challenges,” he said. “That lays the groundwork for tomorrow, when it could be stopping and boarding ships, redirecting them to clear customs on the mainland, or turning them back for failing ‘inspection.’”
For decades, the Trumpet has cautioned that America’s lack of will is going to be the main factor that enables China to seize Taiwan. In 1998, after U.S. President Bill Clinton yielded to Chinese pressure by issuing a statement critical of Taiwanese independence, Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry wrote:
The Chinese leaders pressured the president and America to speak against our freedom-loving friends before the whole world. … The people of Taiwan fear for their future. They feel betrayed. …
Once again, America has showcased its broken will to the whole world. …
How could anyone fail to see that Taiwan is destined to become a part of mainland China? These [23 million] people are going to be forced into the Chinese mold; and it is going to happen for one reason: because of a pitifully weak-willed America.
Does freedom really mean so little to us?
Mr. Flurry based his analysis of America’s faltering will, and its role in the China-Taiwan dynamic, on biblical prophecy.
- Leviticus 26 records God’s warning to the descendants of Israel—mainly modern America and Britain—that if they refuse to obey Him, then He will “break the pride of [their] power” (verse 19).
As China intensifies its campaign to conquer Taiwan and as America limits its response to statements of concern, it is easy to see how Taiwan’s independence will be one of the casualties of America’s broken will. As Powell said, “[W]ords not backed by real costs … just teach Beijing that its strategy is working. The coils will keep tightening.”
