EU advances ‘military Schengen’

 

The European Union is updating its infrastructure to streamline the movement of military assets across its territory. On November 19, the European Commission will present a document detailing changes to infrastructure and border policies, enabling quicker military moves to the eastern flank. The Commission will encourage EU members to remove obstacles to sharing military assets, much like the Schengen Area reduces or eliminates border checkpoints and other international restrictions. The EU may also create a shared fleet of military transports.
