September 13, 1993 Oslo I Accord: Palestinian Authority is established; Israel starts withdrawal.

September 28, 1995 Oslo II Accord: Israel agrees to withdraw from most major PA municipalities.

December 23, 2000 Prime Minister Ehud Barak offers 95 percent of the West Bank and 100 percent of Gaza with some Israeli land in exchange for settler territory. Jerusalem will be shared.

June 24, 2003 President George W. Bush announces the “Roadmap for Peace,” which Israelis accept as a basis for negotiations with the Palestinians.

August 15, 2005 Israel begins its complete withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.

September 16, 2008 Prime Minister Ehud Olmert offers independence to over 90 percent of Palestinian territory; Jerusalem will be shared. Details are murky.

June 14, 2009 Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gives his “Bar-Ilan Speech,” in which he calls for a start to negotiations if the Palestinians take their security obligations seriously.

January 28, 2020 U.S. President Donald Trump unveils his peace plan with Israeli settlements as a part of Israel; Netanyahu endorses it.
