United States President Donald Trump warned during a Fox Business interview Thursday that the U.S. dollar is losing global dominance and America’s role on the world stage is declining fast. To lose global reserve currency status would be “bigger than losing any war,” he warned.

President Trump is right that some nations are seeking alternatives to the U.S. dollar. In recent weeks, China’s largest state-owned banks were dumping dollars, and India and the United Arab Emirates began crude oil sales in national currencies.
