Are America’s Youth Going Crazy?

In the United States, 42 percent of Generation Z has a diagnosed mental health condition, according to a survey by Harmony Healthcare IT. A quarter of these were diagnosed during the covid-19 pandemic.

  • Over half of those diagnosed are on medication, paying an average of $44 per month.
  • 1 in 5 go to therapy, which costs an average of $149 per month.

The most common conditions are anxiety and depression.

  • 9 in 10 of those diagnosed have anxiety.
  • 8 in 10 have depression.
  • Other conditions include adhd, ptsd, ocd and eating disorders.

Something is missing: All the technological and scientific advances in society have not solved this problem. Eighty-three percent of Gen Zers think their generation has more mental health issues than previous generations.

In 1978, Herbert W. Armstrong asked:

Why cannot the greatest minds solve world problems? Scientists have said, “Given sufficient knowledge, and we shall solve all human problems and cure all our evils.” However, as the world’s fund of knowledge rapidly increases, so too do humanity’s evils.

Why? Is something wrong with the human mind? Is something missing? There most certainly is a missing dimension in human knowledge.

The real solution to mental health conditions is not medication or therapy. To learn what this missing dimension is, read Mr. Armstrong’s booklet What Science Can’t Discover About the Human Mind.
