U.S. and German Troops Head to Turkey

German and U.S. troops are being deployed on a NATO mission along the Turkish border with the ongoing Syrian civil war continuing.

Troops and military equipment from the United States and Germany headed for Turkey on Tuesday. The deployment will support nato operations along the Turkish-Syrian border. American forces included soldiers from the Army Air and Missile Defense Command, based in Ramstein, Germany. German soldiers deployed from the Dutch city of Eindhoven.

The United States, Germany and also the Netherlands are each sending soldiers to Turkey, along with a pair of Patriot missile batteries. The six Patriot batteries are intended to protect Turkey against any spillover from Syria’s ongoing civil war.

Although they are ineffective against artillery and mortar fire, Patriot batteries can shoot down enemy missiles, as well as manned aircraft. The systems are expected to become operational later this month.

America and Germany are cooperating on this nato mission, and it appears that Washington wants to rely on Berlin even more in the future. But in doing so, the United States is expecting friendship and peace from the greatest war-making nation in history.

The Bible reveals where this relationship will lead. Ezekiel 23 refers to Germany as America’s “lover,” but it also shows that Germany will betray America in the end.

In the September/October 2000 issue of the Trumpet, editor in chief Gerald Flurry wrote that the United States trusts Germany more than it trusts God. America’s trust in Germany, he said, “could be the worst foreign-policy mistake we have ever made—or ever will make.”

Germany: Building Europe’s Biggest Battery Factory

Goal is to become number 1 vendor for electric cars.

The German government is planning a spectacular new battery cell factory to be constructed in the state of Saxony. It will produce the best lithium-based product, transforming the auto industry and dominating market share. In the spirit of economic lebensraum, it will be the largest instillation of its kind in Europe.

At the end of October 2012, German officials traveled to the Batteries 2012 convention in Nice, France, eager to inform manufacturing partners of the planned factory and its cutting-edge product, with the goal of establishing strong sales pipelines.

“Discover market opportunities in Germany,” read the banner advertisement for Germany Trade and Investment (gtai) on the official Batteries convention website. Keynote speakers hailed from Japan, India, North America and Europe, but they were unsurprisingly dominated by a battery of German captains of the energy industry.

Thomas Grigoleit, renewable energy expert at gtai in Berlin, stated, “To realize the leading position Germany has taken in the field of electromobility, one must analyze the numbers. There are 1.72 million electric and hybrid cars in Europe, of which Germany claims 670,000. If R&D continues to increase in terms of funding and in the generation of intellectual capital, this number could potentially almost double by 2020.”

The national business and job market is watching closely, as the aggressive plan requires confirmation of integrity of price, product life cycle and charging, combined with foreign investment, in order to propel the project to its intended lithium summit.

Germany’s goal, as with numerous other markets, is to become the Continent’s most dominant vendor for electric cars and parts supply. Berlin’s Environment Ministry is so confident of the project’s success that it forecasts some 30,000 extra employment opportunities as its result.

The Trumpet’s editor in chief has drawn particular attention to the domineering of Europe by Germany, from domestic to foreign policy, finance, trade, religion and military expansionism. On the surface, to the ignorant observer, the ever increasing overt actions of German elites appears just another business plan. However, to the non-ignorant of recent geopolitical past, such aggressiveness, exploitation, regional expansionism and blatant Euromart domineering reveals the scale and impact of an aggressive continental and globally unchallenged economic policy whose designed scope portends disturbing, far-reaching, historic implications. Request Herbert W. Armstrong’s booklet Who or What Is the Prophetic Beast? for a deeper comprehension of these concerning developments.

As the Trumpet has exhaustively reported for over two decades, the fiscal foolishness of one-time “United” States and “Great” Britain squandering their economic birthright inheritance blessings, and their respective unabashed turning away from the great God from whence those blessings came, are resulting in punishment at the hands of Europe’s undisputed king and master (Isaiah 10:5-7).

This publication has been assembled by the Trumpet’s editorial staff and features acute historical and prophetic analysis by editor in chief Gerald Flurry recounting the final rise of a church-state combine that will impact global economics, religion and security (Daniel 8, Revelation 13, 17, 18, 19). Women Storm the Senate

The fight for women’s equality is over with women storming the Senate, the Pink Revolution ignited, and more and more women becoming state representatives.

The war for women’s equality, in many ways, has already been won. Women now dominate men in most of the fields they have battled for—from elementary schools to universities, in sheer numbers in the workforce, within hundreds of formerly male-dominated careers.

Most people applaud and celebrate this mass unleashing of woman power. Many say it hasn’t been radical enough. They say the Pink Revolution has only begun.

One area they particularly want to target is the tippy top of the leadership pyramid. Currently the vast majority of heads of state, politicians and corporate leaders are still men. But women are making determined efforts to change that, and a number of factors suggest that it’s only a matter of time. “Within a generation, Britain will not hear any more concerns about too few women being on the boards of public companies. There may be quotas for men,” predicts Liza Mundy in the Spectator (Sept. 7, 2012).

In politics, women are definitely taking strides. In America’s last election, women won big. The new Congress has a record number of women, including 20 senators and 82 representatives—28 of whom are non-white women. New Hampshire became the first state to elect an all-woman congressional delegation, with two women representatives to go along with two women senators. The state also elected a woman as its governor.

“There is no longer an all-male state legislature anywhere in the country,” observed Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz. “Forty percent of the U.S. population now has at least one woman senator.”

And she sees this as just a start. “We have to double down in 2014. We’ve got to make sure we recruit more women for office,” she told a pro-choice political group after the election, “because it’s not just a slogan that when women run, women win. They do, and when women run, Democrats win.”

In a recent interview with abc News, the newly sworn-in women senators exulted in their electoral victories with a healthy measure of condescension toward their male colleagues.

“We’re less on testosterone,” Sen. Dianne Feinstein explained. “We don’t have that need to always be confrontational.” Sen. Maria Cantwell praised women for being uniquely able to “leave their ego at the door.” Sen. Patty Murray described her view of the superiority of women in government: “Every man wakes up in the morning and looks in the mirror and says, I could be president. I think every woman looks in the mirror and says, What can I get done for my country today?”

If Washington is ever to be fixed, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand believes, “It’s women who are going to lead the way.” Sen. Barbara Boxer says that with only 20 senators, women are still “underrepresented” in the Senate. “I think that until we get to 50, we still have to fight, because it’s still a problem,” she said.

Do you suppose that they would actually stop “the fight” upon reaching 50, considering how much better women senators supposedly are?

Last November, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was asked how many women on the court it would take before she would consider it enough. She said nine.

The party line is that this is a fight for women’s equality. The truth, though, is that these women seek to rule. They believe they are more qualified, more responsible, more grown-up, more capable. In their view, men have had their turn and failed. Now they want to step in and take over.

God, though, says they’ve already taken over. He prophesies of our day in Isaiah 3:12: “As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them.”

What Does Morsi Really Think of Israel?

Will Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi honor Egypt’s historic peace treaty with Israel? It’s been the subject of much speculation over recent months. But now we have proof of what Morsi really thinks.

The Middle East Media Research Institute (memri) has published two video clips from 2010 showing Morsi speaking his mind on Israel.

Israelis are “these blood-suckers, who attack the Palestinians, these warmongers, the descendants of apes and pigs,” he said in a video published online on Sept. 23, 2010.

“We want a country for the Palestinians on the entire land of Palestine,” he said in an interview shown on Al-Quds tv, March 20, 2010, in Lebanon.

“All the talk about a two-state solution and about peace is nothing but an illusion, which the Arabs have been chasing for a long time now,” he continued. “They will not get from the Zionists anything but this illusion.”

“We must confront this Zionist entity,” he said. “All ties of all kinds must be severed with this plundering criminal entity.”

“We should employ all forms of resistance against them,” he said in his September statement. “There should be military resistance within the land of Palestine against those criminal Zionists, who attack Palestine and the Palestinians. There should also be political resistance and economic resistance through a boycott, as well as by supporting the resistance fighters. This should be the practice of the Muslims and the Arabs outside Palestine. They should support the resistance fighters and besiege the Zionist wherever they are.”

If Morsi wants to eliminate Israel, and replace it with a state of Palestine, and if he believes that peace is an illusion, how long do you think he will maintain Egypt’s peace treaty with Israel? Only for as long as it suits him.

Morsi shuffled his cabinet January 6, bringing in more Islamists. Three new ministers are long-standing Muslim Brotherhood members. The new finance minister, Al-Mursi al-Sayed Hegazy, specializes in Islamic banking. Egyptian media report that he may be on the Brotherhood’s side.

Morsi and the Islamists are growing in power in Egypt. Israel absolutely cannot trust them.

Pope Pushes for a Unified EU

Pope Benedict xvi voiced a variety of political policies to the Vatican-accredited diplomatic corps on Monday. From Vatican City, the pope called for a ceasefire in Syria and touched on issues affecting several Middle Eastern and African countries. He also drew attention to Europe’s economic problems and urged European countries to work together to fix the financial crisis.

The pope identified profits as the source of Europe’s financial problems. He admonished policymakers to monitor disparities between rich and poor as closely as they monitor disparities in bond market yields.

He also called for strong leaders and for European countries to unite in order to combat the crisis.

“The European Union also requires farsighted representatives capable of making the difficult choices necessary to rectify its economy and to lay solid foundations for growth. Alone, certain countries may perhaps advance more quickly, but together, all will certainly go further,” he said.

However, contrary to what the pope told the diplomatic corps, profits are not the source of Europe’s economic problems. The Trumpet has repeatedly highlighted that Europe’s economic crises were designed to happen. The euro was actually adopted in order to precipitate an economic emergency. European elites knew that their nations would not unite unless they were forced to by a financial catastrophe. That plan is now coming into action.

The Bible predicts that 10 kings will emerge in Europe. Daniel 8 says “a king of fierce countenance” will rule these 10 kings, who will subjugate most of the rest of Europe.

Germany’s Rise … and Rise to Power!

Germany’s Rise … and Rise to Power!

Germany is today far more strategically placed to initiate a sudden imperialist power grab than it ever was under Hitler back in 1939.

We have often commented on the infamous Nazi Red House document. It clearly documented the underground strategy that certain German military, political, industrial and banking elites would adopt to ensure that their nation would revive to mount another attempt at global dominance.

Now, 70 years on, that vision is about to be realized.

It’s been a most cleverly managed strategy, of which even many of Germany’s politicians have been largely ignorant as they have been manipulated by certain elites, now in a second generation but trained in the mindset of their old World War ii mentors, to use the European Union as a cloak for their imperialist intentions.

Both the German public and the general public have been victim of a masterful public relations campaign, aided and abetted by an Anglo-Saxon mass media terribly ignorant of true history, which has convinced the world at large of two great lies—that Germany is now a model, peaceful democratic nation, and that it is simply not capable of raising a powerful military force to be a threat, yet again, to world peace.

Yet German power can no longer be hidden. Even certain German politicians are beginning to express concerns at the scope of the nation’s weapons industry.

Reuters wrote on Dec. 22, 2012,

Peer Steinbrück, set to challenge Angela Merkel as German leader next year, criticized her center-right government on Saturday for letting arms exports surge ….The former finance minister, nominated to lead the Social Democrats (spd) into September’s election against Merkel, said it was a scandal that Germany has become the world’s third-largest arms exporter on her watch.Arms exports are a sensitive issue in Germany due to its Nazi past and the role arms makers such as Krupp played in stoking 19th- and 20th-century wars with exports to both sides.

Germany is the largest exporter of military armaments in Europe and third in the world behind the United States and Russia. The Arms Export Report 2011 released by the German government in November shockingly reveals Berlin’s geographic reach, international partnerships and foreign policy relating to its armaments industry.

Arabian Gulf states appear prominently in the report, underscoring German influence in arming these authoritarian countries as an iron arc in opposition against Iran. Trusted purchase partners such as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain all have ordered sizable amounts of hardware.

The report revealed a total of €5.4 billion in export authorizations approved by Germany’s Federal Security Council, up from €4.8 billion in 2010. “German arms exports have nearly doubled since the end of the 1990s,” reports German-Foreign-Policy.com (Nov. 16, 2012).

However, once unreported sales are included, the picture becomes even more frightening.

As German-Foreign-Policy.com astutely notes, glaringly missing from the report are arms produced under German license in associated countries stretching from Europe to the Gulf states as well as tank sales to Saudi Arabia and Qatar—estimated at €10 billion—and the delivery of tanks and infantry vehicles to Indonesia, projected at €6 billion. Adding these line items to the reported €5.4 billion, the 2011 report could more accurately total €21.4 billion!

“Last October, in her speech to some 250 civilian and military leaders at this year’s Bundeswehr conference in Strausberg (Brandenburg), the German chancellor explained the booming arms exports’ political function. ‘All available instruments’ must be networked for Berlin’s global policy, Merkel said: ‘economic policy, development policy, diplomatic, police, and military measures must proceed hand in hand.’ Potentials of allies must also be used—not only those of nato and the EU allies, but also those of ‘other actors,’ who should be ‘encouraged’ to enhance their engagement for ‘security and liberty.’ And she promised support: ‘Whoever feels committed to maintaining peace’—like Germany—‘but cannot play an active role throughout the world,’ should now be ‘called upon to help trustworthy partners’ so that they can ‘assume corresponding responsibilities.’ This includes support in military training and the supply of the necessary military hardware” (ibid).

What is clear from the report is the impact of the scope of the actual and potential hostilities in the Mideast and Asia upon German arms exports, which is reflected in the 2011 report and only set to be exceeded in future reports.

It’s hard to conceive that Germany, shattered amid rubble after Allied invasion in World War ii, exports more military hardware than any other European country today. This fact alone has foreboding historical overtones. Under the perceived “dove”-like administration of Angela Merkel’s coalition government, the results of this report, and the sales that have been omitted, reveal a “hawkish” military industrial powerhouse exporting hardware unchecked across Europe, the Mideast, Africa and Asia.

The U.S., Britain, the United Nations and nato have forgotten the words of Franklin Roosevelt and Winston Churchill at the end of World War ii in their joint declaration: “It is our inflexible purpose to destroy German militarism and Nazism and to ensure that Germany will never again be able to disturb the peace of the world.”

They didn’t stop with that, but continued, “We are determined to disarm and disband all German armed forces, break up for all time the German General Staff that has repeatedly contrived the resurgence of German militarism; remove or destroy all German military equipment; eliminate or control all German industry that could be used for military production.”

“It is not our purpose to destroy the people of Germany,” wrote the two world leaders, “but only when Nazism and militarism have been extirpated will there be hope for a decent life for Germans and a place for them in the community of nations.”

What few point to in this whole scenario is the cold, hard reality that Germany’s armaments industry could so easily turn its production to self-consumption of its wares, rather than exports. The last time that occurred it spelled massive disaster for the world.

This time Germany already has its allies consuming its military hardware, dependent on it for spare and replacement parts, for upgrades and for the training of their military personnel in the usage of its weaponry. It’s one small step from there for Germany to arm itself to the teeth, thus becoming not only the world’s third-largest producer of military hardware, but the third-largest user of the same, replete with imperial alliances with many of its existing foreign customers, who are in turn armed with German weaponry.

One other fact seems to escape most observers of the German scene today.

Germany’s first military deployment since World War II

Hitler launched a world war having occupied only the periphery around his nation—the Rhineland, the Sudetenland, Austria and Czechoslovakia.

Since Germany, in concert with the Vatican, stimulated the Balkan wars of the 1990s—resulting in the first aggressive post-World War ii military action by that nation—it has progressively mounted military missions in 13 separate foreign theaters (see map).

German deployment today

The reality is that today Germany is far more strategically placed to initiate sudden imperialist aggression than Hitler ever was back in 1939!

All it lacks is the type of charismatic, imperialist leadership to initiate it!

Germany may well continue for a short while to appear the dove in European foreign policy under Mutti Merkel’s waning motherly leadership amid deepening continental and world crisis.

But not for long.

The postwar view that Germans have long held of themselves is changing, as is the view of their European neighbors, and the mood is turning ugly (“The Ugly German Rears Its Head,” Spiegel Online, Dec. 13, 2012). It’s under such conditions that populist leaders tend to rise in Germany.

The ancient Prophet Daniel wrote in chapter 8 of a powerful end-time leader’s imminent arrival amid today’s crisis. He is described as fierce in physical appearance and devious in dark political lobbying. He appears one way to Germans and Europe’s citizens, only, in reality, to be just the opposite, a crafty wolf in sheep’s clothing, leaving devastation in his wake via a deceptively-crafted policy of peacekeeping that hides the true nature of a Holy Roman imperial motive.

Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry has long warned readers, “The Daniel 8 man is going to change the German landscape—economically, politically and militarily. Germany needs a man for emergencies. What we see developing now is just such an emergency, and Germany is about to bring that man to power. This is what’s just ahead of us!”

Again, we remind you as Herbert W. Armstrong did beginning in 1934, a world dictator is about to appear! A strong man in Europe is about to arise! Then watch for the unleashing of the powerful military potential that the German armaments industry has steadily built to such a dominant level.
