This feedback is more about Europe than Islam and FYI not a comment but to add to your perspective.
Co-workers of mine in the UK are re-writing their engineering software to accommodate the new EURO Codes (as they have done also for their Chinese version- including Chinese standards). These codes for all things civil and structural engineering, are also being adopted in countries such as Malaysia. I have little doubt they will be adopted by many other countries outside Europe also. This is another string to the growing European influence.
It is the beginning of the end of the great BS (Britich Standards) used in the UK and so many ex-empire countries like Australia where I live.
