France Ready to Give Europe Control Over Budget

France gives in to Germany.

France is ready to give up control of its taxation and spending, French Budget Minister Jerome Cahuzac said June 26.

“This is what we are talking about, budget solidarity in Europe, which implies that not only that the French budget, but also the German, Italian and Spanish budgets be subjected to a review by all our partners,” he said.

“This does not mean abandoning sovereignty, it is sharing,” he added.

The move is a compromise with Germany. “France and Germany have to work together … Germany has to stop imagining inflation everywhere … and France has to understand that it is also perhaps in the interest of our country, for France to move towards this sharing of sovereignty,” said Cahuzac.

This compromise shows the power Germany has to get its way.

In February 2009, Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry warned that the economic crisis and resulting social unrest would “eventually force Europeans to succumb to a strong united government of Europe, led ultimately not from Brussels, but from Berlin.”

That will be the ultimate result of “sharing” control of national budgets. Watch for Germany to finagle the process so that giving up power to Europe ultimately means giving it to Germany.
