Eastern Europeans are starting to get edgy. Having lived for five years under the boot heel of Nazi terror barely 70 years ago, followed by crushing Soviet Communist dictatorships lasting over 40 years, they fear that by joining the European Union, their nations may have leaped from the frying pan into the fire.
They have reason to be concerned.
