Floodwaters Deepen in Houston After City Gets More Rain

The deadly storms that began over the Memorial Day weekend in Texas and Oklahoma continue to dump torrential rain.

Eight more casualties were reported in Houston and Central Texas as floodwaters deepened on Tuesday, bringing the number of fatalities to 17.

Houston has received another foot of rain, stranding hundreds of motorists. The search for 12 missing people continues even as the severe storms destroy houses, cars and bridges.

Two hundred flights were canceled in Dallas and Houston, and 100,000 residents are without power.

The National Weather Service said more rain is expected throughout this week.
