Khamenei Gives Nine Reasons Why Iran Is Not Moderate

The ayatollah’s latest genocidal plan for Israel

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei listed nine reasons why the West needs to see beyond the moderate farce peddled by President Hassan Rouhani. This comes as Iran and the West appear closer than they have been since the 1970s.

Khamenei took to Twitter on November 9 to launch his latest series of hate-filled threats and lies against the nation of Israel. He posted a table listing nine questions on how and why Israel should be wiped off the map.

This list could more accurately be read as nine reasons why the West should stop perceiving Iran as “moderate.”

The West—especially its media, and particularly the media in the United States—latched onto the “moderate” image propagated by the smiling Rouhani since he won the presidential election last year. But in one tweet, the ayatollah handed the West enough ammunition to blow the moderate myth out of the water. After all, Rouhani may be president, but his power falls far short of Khamenei’s. As Khamenei directs, so goes national policy.

Here are some of the highlights from the ayatollah’s write-up:

Regarding the question on what the elimination of Israel meant to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, Khamemei believes, “The only means of bringing Israeli crimes to an end is the elimination of this regime.” In case this causes anyone concern, Khamenei reassures that “the elimination of Israel does not mean the massacre of the Jewish people in this region.” But before you think this means he wants peace, read the rest of the list. After discussing evicting Israel from the land, he explains the bloody tactics that must be employed in the meantime.

“The West Bank should be armed like Gaza, and those who are interested in Palestine’s destiny should take action to arm the people of the West Bank,” Iran’s highest-ranking decision maker advocates. Fill the West Bank with missiles, and let the people unleash them on Israel. Spoken like a true moderate.

Consider what happened when Gaza was allowed to arm. It became a haven for terrorism. For Gaza, the arrival of weapons meant war against Israel. Unprovoked barrages forced Israel to respond. The ayatollah takes the effect and makes it the cause, blaming Israel for initiating the attacks against Gaza.

The West Bank covers an area over 15 times the size of the Gaza Strip. Towns and cities in Israel lie well within range of the mortars and rockets utilized from Gaza in the recent war with Israel. Most notably, the West Bank extends up to the foothills of Israel’s historic capital, Jerusalem. Any bombardment from the West Bank would make Israel’s opportunity to defend against rockets untenable.

If Khamenei had his way and the West Bank was armed, there would be no referendum or vote on Israel’s existence. There would be bloodshed in the streets of Jerusalem.
And the ayatollah knows it. He saw the terrorizing effect Palestinian rockets have on Israeli towns such as Sderot. It doesn’t take much imagination to think of what the effect would be on Jerusalem, where rockets would be able to fall indiscriminately and without warning from the Arab-held West Bank.

Israel also understands the lethal potential of a militarized West Bank, which is why it has built walls, checkpoints and tight security throughout. Khamenei isn’t calling for the West Bank to be given weapons that won’t be fired. If he had his way, and the West Bank were armed, there would be no referendum or vote on Israel’s existence: There would be bloodshed in Jerusalem’s streets.

Though Israel and the ayatollah both understand this, the West remains willingly oblivious. Western media and diplomats believe Iran isn’t interested in war, only peace. When Rouhani tweeted “Happy Rosh Hashanah,” the West picked it up in an instant. But when the ayatollah tweets nine steps to eliminate Israel—on the 76th anniversary of Kristallnacht—the West lets it slide.

With the P5+1 nations only days away from the nuclear agreement deadline, anything that might rock the boat of Western-Iranian relations is ignored. That includes statements like “resolute and armed resistance is the cure of this ruinous regime”—another gem in the ayatollah’s list.

The ayatollah’s thoughts on how to destroy Israel are about as blatant as could be. If the West refuses to wake up to Iranian extremism with such compelling evidence, what will it take? Iranian nuclear weapons? War in Jerusalem?

If Iran can get away with such tweets by the ayatollah, it is only a matter of time before Khamenei’s nine points come to fruition and Israel faces the consequences. To see where Iran’s radical agenda will lead, read our free booklet The King of the South.
