British Prime Minister: Society ‘Growing Stronger’ Thanks to Homosexual ‘Marriage’

Legalizing homosexual “marriage” will help Britain in “growing stronger socially,” wrote British Prime Minister David Cameron, as same-sex “marriage” became legal on March 29.

“When people’s love is divided by law, it is the law that needs to change,” Mr. Cameron wrote in an article for homosexual news website Pink News. “Together we should be proud to live in a country judged to be the best place to live in Europe if you are lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans,” he wrote.

Mr. Cameron previously said he wants Britain to “export” homosexual “marriage” and “take it around the world.”

British leaders across politics and society have, in general, been proud of the change in the law; the media was full of euphoric articles. The whole nation seemed to be giving itself a big pat on the back. March 29 was a day for Britain to celebrate its tolerance and high-mindedness, and look down with scorn on those backward enough to oppose homosexual “marriage.”

The general public was more indifferent. As we wrote last year:

The truth is, Britain isn’t really that interested in homosexual “marriage.” As America’s Supreme Court deliberated on same-sex “marriage,” thousands turned out to protest. As France legalized it, hundreds of thousands took to the streets. In Britain, it was just hundreds. …There was little real opposition to the bill, because no one really cared. In fact, this was one of the most common arguments used against homosexual “marriage”—no one really cares much either way, so instead of making this law, why don’t we do more to help the economy. It shows that family is not a big deal in Britain. Children are. Politicians stir up a lot of emotion when they fiddle with child care and education. But fiddle with family? No one really minds. It is schools and day-care centers that bring up children.

It was the same on March 29. Allowing same-sex “marriage” didn’t change much for most people—or so they felt.

Mr. Cameron sees things differently. One theme often crops up in his speeches, especially in his early speeches before he became prime minister: the power of marriage and the family. Mr. Cameron appears genuinely convinced that strong marriages make for a strong nation.

In Mr. Cameron’s view, marriage is about commitment and responsibility. To him, the gender of those getting married makes no difference. That thinking is not in line with the view of the one who created and designed marriage and family life: God.

British leaders are wrong to be enthusiastic about this change; the British public is wrong to be indifferent.

God created marriage between man and woman, and not only as a way to provide a stable relationship for bringing up children. Marriage is designed to help all mankind grasp profound spiritual truths. God says in His Word that He is a Father. The Bible describes God’s Church as a mother. What some dismiss as outdated gender roles are in fact at the heart of the gospel.

Britain’s leaders are so in love with their own tolerance, their own righteousness, that they will not listen to any arguments or evidence that they may be wrong on this subject. For those willing to honestly examine what God says about this issue, the Bible warns clearly that same-sex “marriage” will not help society grow stronger. Instead, it is another step toward society’s destruction.

As more and more religious leaders twist the clear teaching in the Bible to suit their own opinions, arguing that it contains no prohibition on homosexual “marriage,” it is becoming increasingly difficult for one honestly searching for the Bible’s perspective on homosexuality to find the truth. Even church leaders who can see where homosexuality is plainly condemned in the Bible, often do not fully understand why.

We’ve recently produced a booklet called Redefining Family that clearly explains why—giving God’s full view on the subject. Although the text is not currently available online, like all of our literature, you can order a copy for free. You will not receive any follow-up contact from us, no requests for donation, no junk mail. And we won’t sell your name and address to anyone. There are no catches.

Vital information is missing from the homosexual “marriage” debate. Even those against homosexual “marriage” aren’t teaching the full truth contained in the Bible. The truth on this subject is both so scarce and so valuable that supporters around the world have donated to our work so we can offer this book, and many others, with no strings attached. To fill in the missing pieces in this worldwide “marriage” issue, please request your free copy of “Redefining Family.”
