Why Study History?

The subject of history is grossly underrated. It is maligned and devalued by modern education, feared by students, and overlooked and underused by most politicians, intellectuals and journalists.

Ironically, even historians and others who enjoy and value history fail to grasp the critical importance of their beloved subject. In fact, history is perhaps the most underrated subject on Earth! Very few grasp and teach the inspiring truth about the ultimate purpose of studying history. What is that truth?
