Introducing ‘The Trumpet Forum’

The truth begins to flow from God’s house.

During construction of Armstrong Auditorium, Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry often spoke about the importance of spotlighting God’s message as it flows from His house. When you consider the way the building has been rigged with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment, including six high-definition video cameras, we certainly have the means to produce regular video content from the auditorium.

This is one reason for our newest feature on theTrumpet.com: The Trumpet Forum. We posted our first video presentation today and hope to offer new content three times per week, at least while the school year, here on campus, is in session. Most of the videos taped to this point have been in the traditional lecture format, lasting about 25 minutes. But with so much happening in God’s work, we hope to eventually include more special features like breaking news stories, interviews, performances and lectures from special guests.

Even before we broke ground on the auditorium, Mr. Flurry often expressed an interest in providing our most faithful supporters with video content on a more frequent basis than he is able to with the weekly Key of David broadcast. He is well aware of the history of God’s work during the 1950s and ’60s, when Herbert W. Armstrong used daily radio programs to help build the work. Mr. Armstrong once said that daily radio was “many times more effective” than broadcasting once a week.

To this point, however, we just haven’t had the means to produce much more than one television broadcast per week. But growth in the college and advances in technology have helped us walk through new open doors for God’s work!

All of the videos we have produced so far have been plainspoken and authoritative—each of them grounded in the inspiration of God’s inspired Word, the Holy Bible. What a refreshing message this is in the information age of mass confusion where everyone has an opinion—everyone, that is, except for God!

Even traditional Christians are woefully misinformed when it comes to what the Bible actually says. Many simply do not read the Bible. They lazily allow someone else to interpret the Bible for them.

The Bible, though, needs no private interpretation (2 Peter 1:20). God’s Word interprets itself. It means what it says and says what it means. With the lectures we produce for the Trumpet Forum, you can expect to be regularly challenged to blow the dust off your Bible and to prove the truth of God’s Word (1 Thessalonians 5:21).

Don’t be a spiritual coward, Mr. Armstrong wrote in February 1982. Look into the Bible for yourself. “It’s full of surprises—it’s full of truth—it’s full of the way to a positive peace of mind, to happiness, to prosperity, abundant living here and now and to salvation in joyous eternal life—forever!” (emphasis mine).

Christianity, Mr. Armstrong so often said, is a way of life. With this new department now added to our website, we aim to put this way on full display.

Enjoy the new feature—and let us know what you think!
