Someone Is Above the Law

The outcome of Joe Biden’s classified documents scandal shows that America has lost the rule of law.

When President Donald Trump and the National Archives and Records Administration disagreed on the documents he was allowed to keep, the Department of Justice broke all precedent and ordered Federal Bureau of Investigation agents to raid his Mar-a-Lago residence. On cue, leftist media personalities echoed this phrase over and over, you’ll remember: “No one is above the law.” When Joe Biden was accused of keeping classified documents he never had the authority to possess, the Department of Justice, the fbi and the media echo chamber sounded a much different refrain.

You remember the breaking scandal: classified documents kept at a University of Pennsylvania office often visited by Chinese nationals, classified notebooks in a home office and den, an open box of loose classified documents about Afghanistan lying out in the middle of the garage—the “personal” possessions of Joe Biden. The Department of Justice appointed Robert Hur as special counsel to investigate, and on February 8 we received his report.

The investigation “uncovered evidence that President Biden willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency when he was a private citizen. These materials included 1) marked classified documents about military and foreign policy in Afghanistan, and 2) notebooks containing Mr. Biden’s handwritten entries about issues of national security and foreign policy implicating sensitive intelligence sources and methods.”

But the report concluded that Biden “would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” and recommended that he not be charged. And at the exact same time, the Department of Justice is prosecuting a case against President Trump.

Just yesterday he appeared in federal court for a closed-door hearing for United States of America v. Donald J. Trump, Waltine Nauta, and Carlos de Oliveira—the ongoing attempt to convict him of “unlawful retention of classified documents,” and an ongoing illustration of the fact that the law in America no longer has to do with justice: It is a weapon.

You just can’t make this stuff up! America’s so-called Justice Department is actually claiming that the sitting president is too senile to be held accountable for his actions. Hur’s report notes that Biden claimed not to remember the years in which he was vice president, when his son Beau died, or what happened during the war in Afghanistan. So people who support Biden are forced to argue that he is somehow capable of faithfully executing the office of commander-in-chief and simultaneously too absent-minded to be prosecuted for exposing foreign-policy, security and military documents he had no authorization to possess or disclose.

As president, Donald Trump had the right to declassify the documents securely kept in his home in Mar-a-Lago, which was and is protected by Secret Service agents. As senator and as vice president, Biden had no right to possess classified documents at the Penn Biden Center. The Biden document scandal is 100 times worse than the Trump documents scandal. Yet federal prosecutors have lodged 37 felony charges against Trump and zero against Biden.

Why?

Because they know Biden currently has the support of Barack Obama, who wants Trump barred from office and doesn’t care if the Chinese read Biden’s documents.

The law, let alone justice, has little to do with it.

Attorney General Merrick Garland is very close to Obama. It is unlikely that he would have allowed Hur to highlight Biden’s senility unless Obama wants the American people to view Biden that way. Obama still wants to keep Biden in place, for now, but the document scandal gives him further leverage and provides another reminder of who really controls the federal government.

Biden responded to the special counsel report with a press conference the same day and disputed the assessment that he is “a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.” Democrats around the country—many of whom must privately be humiliated by how severely they are being forced to contort their logic—immediately erected an echo chamber and filled it with all manner of arguments why Joe Biden is mentally fit for the presidency.

Obama is in control: That’s an open secret in Washington, D.C. Admitting that Biden is guilty of “willfully” mishandling and disclosing classified documents while not charging him with a crime is a power move. It illustrates that Barack Obama and those he uses are above the law.

America’s founders were among those who knew that the rule of law was the fundamental first principle of government. “There shall be one rule of justice for the rich and the poor;” Samuel Adams wrote, “for the favorite in court, and the countryman at the plow.” Justice and freedom can exist only when the people in government are subjected to the same law as the people at large.

Today, America is being governed by the fancies and whims of the radical Joebama administration. The Justice Department is covering up Biden’s sordid crimes while going after Trump. The nation no longer has one standard for the “favorite in court” and “the countryman at the plow.” Instead, the nation’s liberal elite operate with impunity while conservatives are bullied into submission. This is done intentionally so the American people see who is in charge.

People on both sides of the political aisle are talking about invoking the 25th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution to remove Biden from office based on his senility, so it is a real possibility that Barack Obama may soon pick another puppet. But the radical left’s hypocritical double standard will continue as it wages war against Donald Trump.

When America’s founders wrote that no one is above the law, they meant that all Americans—the president included—were subject to the supreme law of the land as described in the U.S. Constitution. But when modern Democrats say no one is above the law, they mean that all Americans—the president included—are subject to the whims of Obama.

“Lawmakers, judges, bureaucrats and others wielding power are shockingly corrupt. Our institutions are crumbling. Our constitutional form of government is almost completely destroyed,” my father, Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry, writes in his book America Under Attack. He continues:

The evidence shows a tremendous amount of lawbreaking by bureaucrats in intelligence and law enforcement. It shows that President Obama filled America’s law enforcement agencies with treasonous agents. It shows that Obama spent his final days in office working with “deep state” operatives figuring out how he could continue to undermine and even spy on the incoming president. … Could anything be more important? This is about losing our country! This is about going from great freedom to the worst kind of tyranny. But in far too many cases, these newsmakers are complicit. These events gave us a hard look at what radical leftists are willing to do to seize power and stay in power. They have no respect for the rule of law. They believe they are above the law. Such contempt for the nation’s founding principles is a grave threat to the republic! No nation can survive such lawlessness.

The deeper one looks into the problems plaguing America today, the uglier and more twisted the picture grows. Keep watching the congressional investigations into the Biden crime family. It may not result in him being removed from office yet, but it will expose many things that God wants exposed and pave the way for some big changes!
